For this excersise I decided to focus on type and color. I'm a huge fan of old-school rock posters, so I decided to create a series of tribute posters. The project would feature lyrics from some of my favorite songs. The selection process was pretty fun. Being a creative director by trade, I set a few simple parameters for myself. Rule 1: Make a series of 10, making them stand alone while being part of a cohesive set. Rule 2: Two-hour time limit per poster. I failed miserably here, BTW. Rule 3: When it's done it's done, no going back for changes.
I had fun with these and am happy with the result. But the real value lies in taking the time for the excersise itself. Every now and then, its good to make some art for art's sake.
